Teacher Behavior Case
As principal you have a suspension that one of your teachers is getting too close to a student of the opposite sex. Although you have no specific evidence, you have some suspicions and rumors or supporting those suspicions. The rumors indicate that none of this alleged activity is occurring during school time and the student is 18 years old. How do you handle this situation?
Personnel Case
As principal, you have directed by the Superintendent to submit recommendations for personnel reductions due to required budget cuts made by the school board. The decision is irreversible and you and each principal must comply. You must cut three positions. How will determine which positions you will recommend to cut?
Data Case
As principal you have evaluated the latest data on the state’s testing program and have determined that students with disabilities are falling short of meeting accreditation benchmarks and will cause your school to miss the AYP target for the fall report. What steps will you take to make the necessary adjustments in teaching strategies?
Donation Case
A member of the school board has contacted you and indicated that they have been able to purchase two dozen Apple I-Pad’s and would like to donate them to your school. The school board member lives in your district and does not want to share them with any of the other schools. What steps will you take prior to responding and after responding to this inquiry?
Drug Case
As the result of a random drug search conducted in your school, three students were identified with illegal substances. One of the three students is identified as a student with a disability and that student was also identified as the major distributor of school drugs.
